Learning Resources (or Items or Objects) are stand-alone resources which can also be pulled into a course or award when creating formal content structures.

The following settings apply to all stand-alone learning resources:

Upload image:

We recommend an image that is 300Wx125H pixels with no defined edges and minimal or no text. This image is used throughout the system.

Title:

Provide a clear name that succinctly describes your resource for Learners and for reporting.

Description:

Describe your learning resource, including any instructions for Learners. For Text learning resources, this is also the body of your training.

Duration:

Indicate how long it is expected that the training will take the average Learner.*

Price:

This can be left blank (it is used for commercial training).*

Language:

If your resource is in another language, change from English.*

Tags:

Add key words for searching in the Explore screen.*

Authors:

The default author is the account creating the resource. Other or additional authors can be added. Authors may receive some notifications about enrolments in their resources.*

* For Text learning resource, these fields are currently only visible in Edit mode.

Specific settings apply to following learning resource types:


Video

Link URL

Add the URL for a YouTube or Vimeo video OR

Drag and drop:

Drag and drop an mp4 file


Link

Link URL

Add the URL for the link. To have the link open in an iFrame:

  • preface the entire URL with https://via.go1.com/ (e.g. https://via.go1.com/www.example.com). 
    Note: some websites do not allow for iFrames or do not work correctly with iFrames. If this is a problem, remove the preface code.
  • check the sharing options on the weblink. Some sites (e.g. TedEd videos) will provide an embedding code.
