Adding Quick Links to a Section

Click the edit button on the relevant section and click the Add Quick Link button (orange plus icon).

Now you have your a section set up, you may begin to add Quick Links. Quick Links are links to resources your staff regularly need to access. Some common Quick Links include:

  • Principal’s Staff Briefing

  • School Duty Roster

  • School Calendar

  • Student Information System Link

  • Excursion Application Forms

  • Leave Application Form.

  1. To add a Quick Link, begin by clicking the edit icon for the section you wish to add the link to. You can add as many Quick Links as you would like in this area.

     

  2. Click the orange plus button to open the ‘Create Quick Link’ panel in a pop-up window.


    In this example, we will be adding a Quick Link that will redirect to our School Governance site. You will need to add the following information:

    • Quick Link Title - Enter the text that you would like to display as the title of your new Quick Link.

    • Choose an Icon - Select the icon you wish your Quick Link to display from the built-in list.

    • Link Address - Enter a URL you would like to your Quick Link to redirect users to, or

    • Choose a File - Upload the file you would like to redirect users to. You also have the option to drag and drop your document onto the ‘Choose file' button.

  3. Click the ‘Save’ button and our Quick Link will now appear in your section

  4. Click the ‘Save’ Icon in your Quick Links section to publish it.

     

  5. Your Quick Link now appears for all users to view and use. To confirm this, enter the Client User view via the settings menu and check that your new Quick Link is being displayed.

Now would be a good time to consider what kind of Quick Links you may want to add to your school’s PolicyConnect site prior to launch. What resources will make life easier for your staff? Which policies and forms will you be accessing regularly?
