Introducing 1-Player

Go1, our software partner for CompliLearn, has rolled out updates to the CompliLearn Staff Learning System portals. You may have already noticed recent changes to your portal. Some of the key changes released this month are described below.

An Overview of 1-Player

A new feature for: All Learners.

What it is: A new way for users to interact with content including a new view. 1-Player contains all of the useful information previously only found on a course's My Progress page. When a learner starts a course they will now jump straight from the course’s Overview page to the 1-Player.

Learners will also be directed straight to the 1-Player from all other areas of the platform if they have already started the course. It gives learners quicker access to learning content reducing confusion on what to do next within a course.

How to experience this improvement

To get started, select a course (or if an Administrator select a standalone learning item) from the Go1 Content Hub. When you click to get started, you will be launched into that learning via the 1-Player.

1-Player includes a right-hand side menu containing more information about the learning item you are viewing.

In the bottom right-hand corner of the side menu, you will notice a small chevron icon next to the course name. Clicking on this icon will display a list of each of the learning items within the course details such as what's up next, the status of your enrolments in the course, and any due dates you might need to be mindful of. You may click on these learning items to navigate directly to them.

This sidebar itself may also be collapsed and expanded, allowing for the learner to focus their attention on learning. You may do so by clicking on the chevron icon in the top left-hand corner of the menu.

In addition to the Mark as Complete button found at the bottom of each page, the 1-Player also includes an easily accessible button in top right-hand corner of the menu bar. Both buttons perform the same function and may be used interchangeably.

Note: The ‘Mark As Complete’ menu button will not appear in interactive CompliSpace courses.

After marking an item as complete, a window will appear directing you to the next item in the course. You will need to either click on the icon in the middle of the screen to move on or hit cancel to stay on the item.

After marking an item as complete, a window will appear directing you to the next item in the course.

Note: You must click on this icon to move to the next section of the course.

Some courses require learning items to be completed a) in a particular order, or b) for one module (a section within a course) to be completed prior to commencing another. If a learner accidentally navigates to a locked learning item within a course (a learning item would be locked due to you having not met the preconditions of that learning item), the learner will be blocked from accessing that learning item.

Reviewing previous learning?

A learner may revisit an item of learning that has previously been completed. To achieve this, when a learner selects to access that standalone learning resource or course, they will be prompted to choose between reviewing their existing enrolment in that item, and, if the learning supports this option, the ability to re-enrol.

If you select to re-enrol, a new enrolment will be saved against your account.

Note: Previous course enrolments will still be stored against your account, however for standalone learning items, your new enrolment will replace the former one.
