Editing Context Keys Directly From the Content

Enter administrator mode, open a page and then click one of the highlighted context keys to edit it.

PolicyConnect allows Administrators to edit Context Key values directly from the content itself. As an administrator (in administrator view) you can will be able to see the orange and grey highlighted text within the content. By clicking on the highlighted text, the edit window for that context key will appear. You can now edit or add a new value. Don’t forget to click save.

Note: There is no character limit for context key fields.

You will notice that once a context key has been filled out, it’s highlight colour changes from orange to grey. This is how you, as an administrator, can easily tell a context key has been completed. These values will also be populated across the entire module. Once all context keys have been filled out, the contextualisation for this particular module is complete.

Remember general users are not able to see context keys whether they are completed or not.

If a context key has not been filled out, the user will see a placeholder value instead.

Let’s practice this, follow these steps on your site:

  1. Click on the ‘Student Duty of Care’ module in the navigation menu, then click on the ‘Student Duty of Care Summary Policy’ heading.

  2. In the right-hand display window, click on an empty context key (highlighted in orange) to open the context key editing window. In this example, we are editing the context key named “School/College”.

  3. In the editing window, type in the value you want this context key to display. In this example, our organisation is a school not a college, so we will be entering the value “school”.

  4. Click the ‘Save’ button to save your changes. Your context key will now be highlighted grey rather than orange, indicating that the context key has been filled out. By switching back to the client user view, you will be able to see how the context key will appear to general users.
