Courses

  • Courses are the primary tool for providing training to staff
  • Courses must have at least one module, which are 'containers' for learning items. Modules are useful for separating content into themes or topics.
  • Each module can have one or more learning items.

Awards

  • Awards are a tool for assigning a bundle of other Awards, courses and/or learning items
  • There are three types of Award:
    • Complete any (pick one course to complete)
    • Reach the target (must complete the required number of credits)
    • Track ongoing learning (learning is added over time)
  • The Award unit of measurement can be edited. The default is 'credit' and 'credits'. Other options include 'points' or 'hours'.
  • Awards can have an optional function to upload external learning records, which can be moderated or accepted by default.
  • Content can include Awards, courses, learning items
    • If adding an Award to an Award, ensure your credits equals the total number of credits from all the combined courses.
    • Content must be visible (see CompliLearn Content Visibility Settings for more information)
    • Reach the Target Awards must have correct credits assigned to courses.
  • Content can be ordered in an Award after it is added.
  • Other settings in Awards are: Tags, Assessors, Expiration, Publish

Identifying Resource Types

Each of the three resource types — Learning Item, Course and Award — have a different appearance on the Dashboard and My Learning/Teaching screens.

Learning items: smaller card, resource type at the top, followed by the title, and the item image below.

Courses: larger card, image at the top, with the course author and title underneath

Awards: same size card as a course, circular image at the top, with the title and Award creator underneath. The lower edge is a ribbon shape.

On the Explore screen, the Learning resource type is noted in the lower left-hand corner of the card.
