CompliLearn Group Terminology

Group : A group is a vehicle to share training to a large amount of learners at one time. It can also allow administrators to share training with a particular group only. This acts as a level of privacy for select courses. User and enrolment reports can also be filtered by group, enabling reports to be provided to teams and other groups.

Assign: Allows the Administrator to assign learning to members of a group. This issues email notifications (if turned on) and places the training on the learner's individual learning dashboard. A due date can be applied, which can then generate automatic reminders (if turned on) to members. Removing assigned training from a group does not remove it from the individuals.

Add (Share): A way of sharing courses to a group so that learners can access and complete the course in their own time. This sharing function is completed inside the course/learning items. A course that is added to the group can then be assigned.

Visibility and Access: The privacy settings of your group. It's function is to ensure that not all members of your portal can see or join other groups (e.g. A volunteer can't join the All Staff group and access training not intended for them).

Group ID: A number generated by the system when a group is created. It is required if using the bulk upload process to assign users to groups. Note: Group IDs were updated/changed in August 2019. If you recorded IDs from before this time, please check for the new numbers in your portal.

Group numbers: The number of members in a group. Be aware that some screens include the group creator (owner) if they are not also a member of the group. The group creator will be included if filtering the Admin/Users report by group, but will not be counted in the member numbers on other screens (unless they specifically join the group).
