Unassign or Unenrol a User

Best for: Users who have incorrectly been assigned/enrolled into a course.  

Note: Deleting will permanently remove the enrollment from your portal and is irreversible (This means you'd lose any progress; however, you can still re-enroll into the course after deleting)


Method 1:  via Reports (can also be used to unenrol multiple users from one course)

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Go to Administer Courses/Awards

  2. Select the course/award

  3. Click on the Reports tab

  4. Click the checkbox next to the name/s of users to be unassigned/unenrolled

  5. Click the ... (three-dot) button next to the Export as CSV button

  6. Select Delete

  7. Set Delete child enrolments to yes

  8. Click Delete enrolments



Method 2: via Enrolments (can also be used to unenrol one user from multiple courses):

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Go to Administer > Enrolments

  2. Search for the Users Name

  3. Find the course associated with the user

  4. Select the checkbox next to the course you want to remove from them.

  5. Click the ... (three dot) button next to the Export as CSV button

  6. Click Delete.



Method 3: via the User's Profile (Single user)

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Go to the user's profile page (click their name on the Administer/Users screen, or any other report)

  2. Go to Assigned or In Progress

  3. Click the ... (three-dot) button on the relevant course card

  4. Choose Remove or Leave course

Be aware: removing assigned training from a group does not remove the training from individuals

Note: Users can also unenroll themselves from courses by going to their My Learning page, clicking on the '...' icon found on the tile/image of the course in their dashboard, and selecting 'Leave Course'.



How to Manually Add or Update Enrolment Details

Best for: occasions when you need to manually update a user's enrolment details. For example, a staff member who has proof of completion from another organisation, or when you are importing an enrolment completion history for a course/event.

Step-By-Step Guide

  1. Go to Administer>Enrolments  (OR go to Administer>Course/Award>Reports)

  2. Click the Import... button

  3. Search for the training item title in the pop up search field

  4. Select the required training item

  5. The Enrol Users: Upload File pop up screen has a .csv template in the bottom left corner

  6. Click the link to open the .csv template

  7. Fill out the template ensuring the format in the columns are followed exactly:

    • Column A: Email address of user

    • Column B: Select a status (note, these are case sensitive and must include the underscore)

    • Column C: Start date

    • Column D: End date (completion date) 

  8. Return to the Enrol Users: Upload File screen

  9. Click the File symbol (centre of screen) to import the user enrolment file or drag and drop your file onto the screen

  10. Click Upload

Be aware: you may not be able to update enrolments in all training items. Items shared to your portal from other sources (e.g. CompliSpace, CompliLearn) will need to be updated by the author. Please contact CompliSpace for assistance.
